Traditional gas detection methods do not work for these pouches because they contain no detection gases and have minimal headspace. To address this, Oxipack developed a method that measures pressure changes within the package itself. This method allows for accurate detection of leaks without needing an enclosed gauge, enabling rapid testing.

Pouches move through the detection unit in a U-shape, with the capacity to test 60 packs per minute. In a fully integrated packaging line, the system can achieve speeds of up to 120 packs per minute. This process is highly accurate, capable of detecting leaks as small as 10 microns, depending on the liquid's viscosity.
